So You’re Engaged – Now What?

The ring is beautiful and everyone wants to see it and say “Congratulations”! You’re on cloud nine but eventually you start to come down and realize you have a wedding to plan. Now what?

In these economic times it’s more important than ever to start with your budget. I know, all you want to do is go dress shopping! Not so fast, you will thank me in the long run!

Schedule a meeting with all parents involved.
Establish the style of wedding you all envision.
Number of guests you will invite.
Determine the overall budget if at all possible; here is a formula to help.

Budget Formula: Percentage of overall budget
Reception Venue 65%
Photography 6%
Wedding Gown 5%
Flowers 5%
Music 3%
Décor/Lighting 3%
Invitations/Programs/Menu Cards 3%
Rehearsal Dinner 3%
Cake 2%
Transportation 2%
Officiate 1%
Ceremony Site 1%
Hair and Makeup 1%
Grooms Tuxedo is usually complimentary with wedding party order

If you find where your budget will not support your guest list to have the style of wedding you want, you will have to pare down your guest list.

Now get ready to go spend 5% of your budget on that gown you always dreamed of wearing! Make sure you call for an appointment!

Emerald City Band returns to Unveiled Dallas!

The Wedding Guys are pleased to welcome back Emerald City Band for the March 6, 2010 Unveiled Event in Dallas!

Since 1983 Emerald City Band has electrified audiences with a repertoire encompassing the last 50 years of popular music as well as playing the most current songs and even some of their own music! Taking their audiences to an even higher level in entertainment –Emerald City Band is a 14 piece, 4-horn group with stunning vocal talents.

They have performed for President and Mrs. Bush at the White House, numerous fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, Ford and Coca-Cola. Emerald City band has even performed at the weddings of Emmitt Smith, Mark Cuban and Angie Harmon.
